R&D
As innovative and competent company in the field of chemical recycling of PU waste as well as production of polyester polyols based on PET, PA and natural oils, H&S operates a Research and Development Center in Wildau near Berlin.
The main activities of the R&D department of H&S are dedicated to the development of technical processes and recipes for recovered polyols, brand-new polyester polyols and PU foam recipes for all kinds of PU applications. The R&D Center of H&S has pilot reactors with capacities
of 90, 320 and 700 liters, in which all developed processes can be simulated, providing a perfect upscaling option in the adaptation of processes to industrial scales. The reactors are also used for the production of polyol samples for H&S customers, if the material is to be tested on the production line. The lab is equipped with all devices needed for analyzing the polyol parameters, as well as highly modern and accurate devices for testing the physical and mechanical properties of the PU foams.
H&S service and support in the field of chemical development for our customers comprises:
- Testing of the PU foam residue samples sent in by customers
- Production of polyol samples from test to industrial scale in the pilot reactors
- Foam tests and analysis of the physical and mechanical foam properties
- Adjustment of the polyol parameters in accordance with customer requirements and specifications
- Development and adjustment of the recipes for PU foam based on polyester polyols and recovered polyols
- Comprehensive consulting service on all queries relating to PU
- Training and instruction of customer personnel by H&S chemists within the scope of mutual projects
- Long-term customer support from the pre-sale period and the system start up to the production phase
